This course will examine the genetic information content of cells,deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and how this information can beused to understand the natural history of life on earth. Themeswill include an introductory description of DNA, diversity ofgenetic information, mechanisms of inheritance, the humangenome, genetic diseases, and family trees. Jason Pitts will use amix of lectures, group activities, and discussion to respond toparticipants’ interests.
